In manufacturing technology, we have been regarded as an early adopter since the late 1970s, when we enabled high-end production in Austria at market prices.

Since 1949, Lugstein Cabs has stood for entrepreneurship, innovation and strength. These values are the foundation of our 75-year-old success story. From blacksmith’s forge to internationally renowned brand, we can look back on a number of important milestones in our company history:
The founder Josef Lugstein opens his village forge in Brunn near Straßwalchen.
Entry into the metal industry with mould and forced mixer construction.
Construction of the first driver's cabin (LK400), after § 19b KDV 1967 (Motor Vehicle Act Implementation Regulation of 1967) requires T- & C-category vehicles to have overturning prevention devices.
Cabin frame profile for flush-mounted door and window installation is established at Lugstein.
First welding robot goes into operation. Lugstein Cabs recognises the importance of consistent quality in cabin production at an early stage.
The breakthrough into the German market was achieved with the product presentation at the trade fair in Frankfurt in 1984.
Josef Lugstein Sr. becomes the second generation of the family to run the company.
Start of the strategically important partnership with (Wacker)-Neuson. The first driver’s cabins for the construction industry roll off the assembly line.
Austria's second laser cutting machine is put into operation at Lugstein Cabs. Iron phosphating process is introduced.
The second coating plant (14 zones of zinc phosphating) goes into operation.
Josef Lugstein takes over the business in the third generation. The first production hall in the INKOBA industrial area (Gewerbestraße 18) is also opened in 2009.
Fully automatic cabin welding robot becomes part of the production line.
Lugstein cabs introduces the complex cathodic dip painting process including 18 dip tanks.
Opening of new building for assembly, logistics and shipping area.
Entry into cabin production for the forklift industry.
